From the desert, to the mountains, to the mighty Colorado, to the narrow slot canyons, Moab is an AdventurHER's dream -- and especially so for a group of slaydies looking to climb some of the best sandstone in the world. This trip is designed to give you a little bit of all available rock fun in this southern Utah playground. We'll start with some cragging to get used to the softer, grittier cutler sandstone and acclimate to the desert. We'll climb some gateway towers for that epic, "top of the world" feeling and profile photo opp. We'll learn the ins and outs of jamming ourselves into cracks of harder wingate sandstone at Indian Creek. We'll rapp down into slot canyons, hiking and descending and swimming our way through the depths of the desert. And we'll experience Arches National Park at sunset, enjoying a camp dinner as the unparalleled desert starscape comes out in full force. If you're going to spend a week in Moab, this is how you make the most of it!

Every AdventurHER trip is led by a professional local guide (trust us, you want someone with a lot of experience to find your routes and set your anchors) and a Dedicated Adventure Manager (our DAM girls) from AdventurHER.

Activity Level: Class III; Involves full days of physical activity, and you should be comfortable sport climbing at a 5.9.
Lodging: Desert camping at its finest! Roomy, cabin-style canvas tents with four twin beds, linens and towels, a dresser, coat stand and carpeted floor.
Included Meals: Breakfasts, lunches, and some dinners.

This trip isn't ready yet, but make sure to let us know you're interested! We'll give you a shout when it's ready, and letting us know which trips you're watching will help us prioritize the trips women are most excited about.

We meet in marvelous Moab! If you are coming into Salt Lake City this morning and want help arranging transport from SLC to Moab, talk to your DAM girl to set this up. After checking into our safari tents and doing a quick meet and greet, we start the trip with a boat ride down the calm-water section of the Colorado, right downstream from Moab. We'll see a fossilized sea bed, wonderful views of arches, Indian petroglyphs, and a unique view of an Indian granary, as well as pass the bottom of Dead Horse State Park, Thelma and Louise Point, and a natural amphitheatre. We'll have a stocked cooler and spend some time getting to know each other!

After cruising the Colorado, we'll have a big AHT dinner with our guides for the weekend.

Day Two

We start our first full day of climbing by eating a big breakfast and meeting our guides for fitting any gear you didn't bring with you. We'll spend the whole day cragging around Moab, getting plenty of climbing in and acclimating to the feel of desert sandstone.

Day Three

Another early start and big breakfast later, we venture into the world of tower climbing! This day is a long one because, as you might imagine, Moab's narrow towers offer fewer opportunities to set up multiple ropes. If you're not on your way up the tower, you'll be learning about how to place trad gear, build anchors, and set up rappels, with a lot of hands-on experience.

Day Four

As a rest day from climbing, we're off to go explore some of the area's famous canyons! We'll be spending the whole day hiking, doing lots of rappelling, swimming in spectacular canyon-bottom pools, and navigating canyon obstacles as we search for ancient ruins built by the Ancestral Puebloans, arches, and the occasional natural bridge.

Day FIve

We head up to the world famous Indian Creek area of Bear's Ears National Monument to get some crack (climbing). Crack climbing is a skill set all unto itself, and here we will begin to learn about finger, hand, and foot jams, laybacking, and proper taping, as well as head jamming, chicken-winging, full body exfoliating, and lay-downing.

That night, we'll be heading to Arches National Park for a sunset hike to one of the state's most famous and beloved arches, Delicate arch, where we'll have a camp dinner and wait for the stars to come out for our AdventurHER stargazing party. The skies in the desert on dark, moonless nights are unbelievable.

Day Six

On day six, we pack up and depart this beautiful week of fun and adventure. If you're sticking around Moab for a little longer and want a spa treatment on this last day, work with your DAM girl to organize it! You've earned it.
