Trip Dates: Oct. 24 - 27, 2019
Class II | Glamping
4 days, 3 Nights
Moab, a little town in Southern Utah, is an adventure lover's paradise. Surrounded by desert, bordered by mountains, cut by the Colorado, and decorated by beautiful sandstone arches and towers, there's something for every AdventurHER here. This long weekend is focused on learning the ropes of rock climbing and canyoneering. Whether you've never climbed outside before and want to take your gym skills to real rock or you've never climbed at all, your trip's tribe is here to help you learn a new skill, gain confidence, and have a blast.
From cruising the Colorado river, to climbing some famous crags, to rappelling into slot canyons, to staying in amazing safari tents with real beds, to stargazing in some of the most amazing dark, desert skies, this beginner-friendly trip in the Adventure Capital of the West will be an experience you'll never forget!
Every AdventurHER trip is led by a professional local guide (trust us, you want someone with a lot of experience to find your routes and set your anchors) and a Dedicated Adventure Manager (our DAM girls) from AdventurHER.

We meet in marvelous Moab! If you are coming into Salt Lake City this morning and want help arranging transport from SLC to Moab, talk to your DAM girl to set this up. After checking into our safari tents and doing a quick meet and greet, we start the trip with a boat ride down the calm-water section of the Colorado, right downstream from Moab. We'll see a fossilized sea bed, wonderful views of arches, Indian petroglyphs, and a unique view of an Indian granary, as well as pass the bottom of Dead Horse State Park, Thelma and Louise Point, and a natural amphitheatre. We'll have a stocked cooler and spend some time getting to know each other!
After cruising the Colorado, we'll have a big AHT dinner with our guides for the weekend.
We'll start bright and early with breakfast and then head out for a full day of rock climbing! This area is a rock climbing mecca with more routes than you could imagine -- they say you can climb around Moab for the rest of your life and never climb the same route twice. Many of the routes are technical and advanced, bringing big name rock stars in the climbing world, but there are still plenty of areas for those of us just learning! We'll learn proper technique, safety, and skills for climbing outdoors while we have fun in this sandstone playground.
That night, you're free to go out into Moab and mingle with the other adventurers in town, or hit the sack early! If you're interested, your DAM girl can help you set up a visit to a local spa for a massage to work out some of those kinks before the next day's adventures.
Getting another early start and breakfast, we're off to go explore some of the area's famous canyons! We like to describe canyoneering as “full contact hiking;” you’ll use your hands as much as your feet to navigate up, over, down, and through these sometimes narrow slot canyons. We'll be spending the whole day hiking, doing lots of rappelling, and navigating canyon obstacles as we search for granaries built by the Ancestral Puebloans, sandstone arches, and the occasional natural bridge.
That night we'll be heading to Arches National Park for a sunset hike to one of the state's most famous and beloved arches, Delicate arch, where we'll have a camp dinner and wait for the stars to come out for our AdventurHER stargazing party. The skies in the desert on dark, moonless nights are unbelievable.
On day four, we pack up and depart this beautiful weekend of fun and adventure. If you're sticking around Moab for a little longer and want a spa treatment on this last day, work with your DAM girl to organize it! You've earned it.
