International Climbing Day is August 24, and AdventurHER Travel is celebrating by hosting a weekend of climbing and yoga on the beautiful north shore of Lake Superior. Come with us for a weekend retreat of rock climbing, hiking, yoga, and camping!

Pre-climbing, we’ll prepare with a 30 minute “Movement & Mobility” practice. Utilizing locomotive natural movement patterns, active range mobility work, and even some movement riddles, you can expect to move your joints through their full range of motion, while cultivating a clear mind-body connection.

Then we’ll harness up (gear provided for those who need it!) and spend 4 hours climbing. This weekend is open to all skill levels, and we will have anchors set on climbs of all grades! The climbing at Shovel Point is all tope rope. Anchors will be set up by our guides on routes of varying difficulty. The

Post-climbing, we’ll couple a dynamic Yoga Flow practice with a slow and stretchy Recover practice to create 60 minutes of mindful movement and relaxation. Seamless flowing, active and passive stretches, along with guided breathwork and meditation will leave you feeling rejuvenated and well cared for after all of the hard work that you put it at the crag.

Tent camping (optional) is available for the weekend. S’mores and a campfire will be provided.

Every AdventurHER Travel trip is led by a professional local guide and Dedicated Adventure Manager (our DAM Girls).

Day One: Friday, August 23

Those of us camping are welcome to come up to the campground anytime after 3 pm!

Day Two: Saturday, August 24

Meeting at the Tettegouche State Park parking lot at 8 AM, we will start our day with a 30 minute “movement and mobility” practice, led by Lindsay. Then, once we’re all limber, we’ll hop on the rock with Krista and enjoy climbing above the beautiful blue water of Lake Superior. After getting 4 hours of climbing in, we’ll go for a 1 - 3 mile hike and wind down with our second yoga session, a 60 minute combination of dynamic flow and rest & recovery. Then, those of us camping will return to our campground and hang out around a camp fire!

Day THree: Sunday, August 25

A repeat of day two, but this time, starting our morning with a yoga hike. After our 30 minute session and morning hike, we will head back to the cliffs for 4 more hours of climbing. Winding down the weekend with 60 minutes of yoga, we’ll head back home — or stop into Bent Paddle Brewery on our way back home for a celebratory pint! (cold brew coffee and kombucha also on tap)

Payment in full will reserve a spot in this clinic. This is fully refundable minus a processing fee for the first 7 business days, whereupon it becomes non-refundable. In the event of weather bad enough to call off the event, this clinic will be rescheduled; you can either attend the rain date or receive a full refund.
